Hey big spender!

It has been a week of political revelations. First the details of shadow chancellor George Osborne's now infamous trip to Corfu were debated very publicly. Later came the sobering sight of Republican senator Sarah Palin's wardrobe bill.
I want to focus on the latter. Palin is estimated to have spent $150,000 (£92,000) on designer clothes, hair and makeup in the space of just over two months. This has made a sizeable dent in the McCain election campaign budget, which is set to top a record $1 billion. Her free spending is sure to make any buyer cringe – even if she plans to hand her garments over to charity when the election is finished.
