Swine flu
Swine flu has dominated the summer news agenda. The illness has spread its reach far and wide across the UK and its affects have been felt with varying degrees of seriousness.
Now swine flu has crept on to the procurement agenda. Lawyer Kelvin Balmont believes the condition could impact a supplier’s ability to perform contractual duties, knocking out staff for days at a time.
He says logistics firms are likely to be worst impacted, while vendors that operate in people heavy environments should also be considered a risk.
Unfulfilled duties could also give rise to contractual disputes, Balmont adds.
With these issues in mind, how concerned are you that swine flu poses a supply chain risk? What are you doing to address these issues?
