Share your news in ‘silly season’

August is usually a time despised by journalists. Stories are thin on the ground and good leads are very often thwarted by people holidaying.

You need only look at how light the Financial Times has been on news this week for evidence.

The procurement world, although not exempt from the trend, is still lively with interesting snippets and big themes this summer.

I think this partly due to the economy – which looks to be on the verge of a fragile recovery – but it is also testament to the positive impact of buyers and the profession’s increasing profile.

Many proactive purchasers get in touch with the SM team to share their successes and challenges. Others could do better at publicising their good work.

The “silly season” will pass, but our desire to hear your news will never decrease. So drop us a line and keep the momentum rolling.
