How to resolve a dispute

It has been predicted the recession would mean an increase in the number of disputes between companies, and the number of court reports I have been receiving seems to reflect an increase in litigation by both purchasers and suppliers making complaints against each other.
Buyers and vendors are always urged to avoid court proceedings to come to a more sustainable resolution, but when differences between the two sides become entrenched – like in the current postal dispute – mediation can be extremely difficult.
This article from the BBC explains just what goes on during a mediation process, and buyers may find it useful to take some of the principles and apply them to their own relationship difficulties.
