On a personal note…

The some-time musical theme of this blog continues today with a plug for a good cause.

David Read, chief executive of consultancy and consortium Prestige Purchasing, has released a self-penned album. The poignant collection of 10 tracks is a mix of folk and blues and is produced by David’s son Stuart.

The album is a highly personal project, inspired by the death of David’s mother after she suffered from Alzheimer’s. The CD, I Know That I Should Know You, can be ordered here and all of the proceeds go to the Alzheimer’s Research Trust.

Of course, David is not the only buyer who can boast musical prowess. Many of you will remember Department for Work and Pensions commercial director David Smith crooning to the audience at the CIPS Supply Management Awards this year.

If there are other purchasers that are handy with a guitar, or any musical instrument, we’re always keen to listen.

One Response to “On a personal note…”

  1. I play drums in a three-piece rock band called Planet Friday: own material and covers. We’ve been together for just over a year and are East Midlands-based.

Our highlight to date was playing at this year’s Rock & Bike Festival in July. We made it to the gig T-shirt! We’ve just recorded our second EP and have eight gigs already booked for next year.

I’m doing my grades and currently working on grade four.
