Who’s been sleeping in my bed?

My favourite part of any day is getting into bed at the end of it.

Nothing beats sliding under the covers and letting yourself completely relax. But on these cold winter nights it can be difficult to drop off if your feet or hands are freezing.

Holiday Inn think they have found the answer by offering “human bed warmers” – people dressed in all in one sleeper suits – to lie in the beds of guests for five minutes before they want to get into bed.

What a terrible idea. I find the concept of having a stranger, whom you have no idea where they have been, getting into and messing up a nice fresh bed absolutely repulsive.

A spokeswoman from the hotel chain claims it’s “like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed”. I’ll stick to the normal hot water bottle, thanks.

  1. My wife says if the bed warmer looks like George Clooney she has no problem with this at all.

  3. People dressed in all-in-one sleeper suits conjures up images of Matt Lucas as George Dawes in “Shooting Stars”…Holiday Inn better put me down as a “No”.
