The advent of sustainability
Did you eat a chocolate you found behind a small cardboard door this morning? Or perhaps you found a picture of a star/tree/mistletoe instead and satisfied yourself with that?
Perhaps you don’t have an advent calendar at all – if so, fear not – here’s something that could be just the ticket, fun and educational… an advent calendar on sustainable development.
The site promises to unveil 24 case studies on sustainable development in practice with daily quizzes and ideas for sustainable gifts in the lead up to Christmas.
I can’t provide any spoilers, I’m afraid, when I checked this morning it was “still too early”, so I suspect we’re waiting for the US to wake up. I for one will be checking back later in the day to see what’s revealed.
Meanwhile, Forbes takes a fun look at ‘the best supply chain in the world’ and wonders why Santa’s operation never gets a mention in Gartner’s annual list of the top 25 supply chains.
It highlights its ‘laser focus on the target market’ (children of all ages), its global distribution channel that spans the world in 24 hours and its 100 per cent perfect order rating, on-time delivery and fill rates. The first two sound plausible, but I’m not sure about the third, I’m sure we all know some customers who’ve been dissatisfied on the morning of 25 December.

Thanks for mentioning our calendar. I hope you’ve been able to open the window in the mean time. You might have to reload the site?
Our server has German time… At least you don’t have to wait till US-time…
