Advent calendars are being opened and snow is on the ground in parts of the UK, so it’s time for a bit of musing about A Christmas Carol. Specifically, Ebenezer Scrooge and his place in the modern world.
I’d like to think that he doesn’t have one, but sadly that just isn’t the case. This has come to my mind as a result of two conversations with friends. According to a survey by recruitment firm Reed, the primary attributes required by staff is the ability to make workers feel comfortable (71 per cent), to be calm under pressure (67 per cent) and tied on 62 per cent was providing the freedom to work uninterrupted, and giving clear instructions and defined targets.
