Be mindful of your mental health

Alison Smith, the Purchasing CoachAn HR professional wrote a blog earlier this month as part of a series of reflections and resolutions. It was 43rd in a series of 45 and contained 766 words. But the repercussions of those 766 words have far outweighed the reaction to any of the other 44 blogs and 30,000 words put together.

Why? Because the writer had the courage to put their head above the parapet, even if anonymously, to talk about mental health. (more…)

Compensating for a pay freeze

Buyers know all about measuring value (or at least they should), so it would be interesting to learn the response if they were asked the same question respondents to a survey by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals were posed.

The research found 48 per cent of staff believed they are paid less than they are worth, and 9 per cent thought they are paid “considerably less” than their value. (more…)
